Apart from being a Grade II listed building in London, how does Haggerston Baths create engagement as an urban retreat with a generation engrossed in the virtual world? How does it establish a sense of reciprocity with people in the continuity of its historical stature. How does it make itself accessible?
The core encapsulates a spectacle as its boundaries attempt to match the quotidian rhythms of its neighbourhood. As it is discovered, it taps our attention with moments of awe creating a collective silence away from the bustle of the urban and the virtual. The silence of space remains alive at night as our sense of space transforms.
The interior face of the building has become a part of the pedestrian exploration and informs what it now has to offer. People from multiple generations have found the niche of their belonging at the corners of the building. Its unseen parts are also revealed to the cityโs people telling the story of its past.
To evoke a sense of collective ownership amongst people, some programs are categorized as chargeable which aid towards the upkeep of the building, the continuity of its services and the sustenance of its caretakers.

It does not include classic wellness but reflects on how multiple generations can be drawin into the space and invites for reflection in various ways. Through the reflecing object the old bathhouse is mirrowed in a new context. This trick however is a little outdated (e.g the bean in Chicargo).
