USC Center for Social Justice

The goal of this project is to provide a sustainable CLT office building with a flexible event center for the underprivileged community of Inglewood. The massing strategies block the noise from the busy Crenshaw BLVD and allow for outdoor areas in all levels throughout the entire site.

The project fully embraces heavy timber construction because of its sustainable/renewable nature as well as its earthy quality. The existing parking lot is turned into greenspace and park in the masterplan which extends into the building with the implementation of terraces. The diverse office program includes both closed and open working areas, meeting rooms, research facility and kitchens. The project envisions a new way of interactive working experience with outdoor areas providing recreation spaces within the office program
