The design focuses on the existing urban problems of the Tehran region, which are caused by the constant sandstorms and the over-exploitation of the subterranean areas, and extends the functional attributes of the original building, extends the building horizontally outwards, re-creates the inorganic environment in the ecosystem, and gives back the green sustainable space to the city, and builds a new folded urban ecosystem at the centre of the city’s waist.

The design forms a building with layers as its main expression, and extends different functions on each floor to form a new folded urban form, where functions are distributed vertically instead of horizontally, and people can walk through the layers, forming plazas in the area of holes, which will generate a series of activities; forming a symbiotic development of plants, animals and human beings, and an ecological ecosystem of new species.

The project also aims to create an atmosphere where people walk indoors even though they are outdoors, with functions and structures that connect indoors and outdoors closely, blurring the boundaries of the building, reducing the pressure of underground development and protecting against sandstorms, creating a sustainable, green living building for the city of the future.
