The representation is an architectural deconstruction of Villa Savoye, a pivotal masterpiece, sectioned, opened and cut away and reconstructed for a deeper insight. Through this dissection, the representation depicts multiple temporal states simultaneously, inviting us to consider the villa not as a static entity but as a series of evolving narratives.

The design approach draws inspiration from the Cubist movement, renowned for its method of fragmenting objects to observe them from numerous viewpoints offering a more complete understanding of their form. Similarly, this representation of Villa Savoye layers various perspectives, employing section cuts and other architectural projections to reveal a superimposed reality within its iconic structure.

By fragmenting the building’s spaces, the image provides a simultaneous glimpse into the diverse experiences and moments that occur within its walls. It promotes a new way of thinking about the iconic architectural space, not just as physical volume or sacred architectural relic but as a confluence of different timeframes, activities, and stories.

The timeless allure of Villa Savoye as an icon of the ‘new’ is emphasised by its visual dialogue with contemporary design icons. This interaction fosters a connection between the foundational principles of modernism and the innovative designs of today. As each segment of the villa unfolds, it reveals tales that weave the past with the present, showcasing the universal language of architectural ingenuity. The intersections and interactions depicted here between inhabitants, spatial elements, and design details transcend mere illustration; they serve as a narrative bridge linking Le Corbusier’s innovations with the evolving ethos of current state of design discourse.

In this multi-layered examination, Villa Savoye is not only showcased in its original glory but is also recontextualized as a living entity, capable of conversing with and contributing to the dynamism of contemporary design.

Villa Savoye, in its entirety, becomes an immersive experience that allows one to delve deeper into understanding the vision and style of Le Corbusier. An experiential journey that traverses the many decades over which his profound influence has been portrayed in architecture. | Gökçe Çalıkoğlu, COO, Toffu Co.

The graphic language positively contributed to reinterpreting, through artistic and geometric means, the Villa and its expansion in scale and architectural elements. Great drawing. | Mariela Mezalira
