The Seed is a compact home for two people, expandable to four. It has a transport footprint of L4.3m x W3.3m, suitable for a car trailer or two units on a truck. Each of the four modules features pre-assembled furniture and technical connections for quick setup.
On-site, segments are pulled apart, and 1.2m wide floor panels click into place, extending the area to L7.5m x W3.3m. The U-shaped folding sliding windows are pulled out of the fixed parts of the building. The entire system can be pushed to one side to allow “outdoor” living. Hollow floor slabs house technic, avoiding separate connections. Within the floor level, there are terrace elements and terrace furniture, which are pulled out after construction, folded out and placed at next to the building. Rraised floor supports adjust for uneven ground. Construction uses regional timber.
The Seed includes a kitchenette, storage, living room, fold-out table, bed, washbasin, and separate toilet and shower. Integrated storage is in furniture units. The bed rotates to expand the sleeping area at night. Overhead windows create a spacious feel in the 25m² (including exterior walls) space. For four people, two buildings connect via a rear door.
So The Seed offers a cost-effective and sustainable, mobile living solution.
