The Line project, while a remarkable example of technological innovation and efficiency, fundamentally undermines the essence of human existence by prioritizing mechanized systems over emotional, social, and cultural connections. Historically, cities emphasized efficiency and mass production during industrialization, but modern urban spaces should prioritize intangible elements such as human connection and personal identity. By focusing solely on advanced technology and systemic efficiency, The Line risks turning its inhabitants into mere cogs in a machine, stripping them of their individuality and reducing the city’s core humanistic values. This approach diminishes the meaning of human presence and weakens personal identity, ultimately compromising the essence of urban life.
Jury Comments
– This reinterpretation stands out for its emphasis on the human and urban aspects, setting it apart from others. It rethinks the project through an intrinsic INTERNAL discourse and the INTERIOR of the building itself. References to individuality, technology, and values can be seen through the author’s graphic perspective. | Mariela Mezalira
