Distribution Center
There is a 75% staff turn away in the distribution center each year. Most of the works do physical works, which means it is a very exhausting work and could bring health issues. Plus the low payment, the stress, long shifts and work environments is isolate. Therefore basically no one wants to work in a distribution center. Taking this as a start point, we want to change this situation by creating better working experience and environment to let staff like working here, and at the same time bringing the public into the space. We introduce five programs in our building which are market, gym, auditorium room, theater and restaurant. Is it not just a visual connection between Public and Distribution Center but by mixing of programs to activate the monotony of a Distribution Center.
About the Form:
How to create a public space which serve to our distribution center also engaged into city context is our first consideration. We thought distribution center is no longer a sealed box in today, so the public space is more about creating a intermedia between city and distribution center. Starting to create a void space down below which can accommodate public events happening, that at points meet the DC.
