Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by taking things apart, understanding their individual elements, and putting them back together. Every system is susceptible to failure; therefore, my approach involves dissecting systems to their core constituents and creating an improved version by modifying the interactions between these components. This technique results in a completely new strategy. Fundamentally, this approach is at the foundation of architecture, which concentrates on designing systems that cater to the essential or intricate demands of users within an organized framework. An architect constantly reevaluates and restructures connections based on user requirements. To illustrate my architectural practice, I would compare it to Darwin's theories. Darwin suggests that living organisms in nature have evolved to interact with their environments. For example, a specific type of orchid may have an elongated crown leaf; however, this feature is useless unless a species can reach its nectar. Darwin infers that nature customizes each species for a particular purpose, incorporating aspects such as eyes for detecting light and nervous systems for processing it. In the same vein, architecture must be designed to accommodate users and meet their diverse needs. The concept of users includes not only humans, but also environmental factors, weather conditions, and landscapes. A structure should seamlessly blend with its surroundings and take all elements into account in its design. As a result, Darwin's evolutionary perspective can serve as a guide for the foundational principles of architectural practice. By acknowledging both natural and human components as architects, we can enhance our designs and advocate for a more comprehensive and environmentally-aware approach.
