Bike Box introduces a bike storage system that integrates portability with security. In urban areas, on-street parking and municipal lots can serve as ideal locations for accommodating the expanding cycling community. By adopting a semi-permanent, membership-based model, this bicycle storage system can be relocated to areas with high demand, offering both security and weather protection.

This semi-permanent structure addresses inadequate bike storage facilities in older neighbourhoodscurrently undergoing density and cycling infrastructure projects. The prefabricated storage unit is designed to fit within a standard parking spot and uses rubber tiles from recycled tires in its construction. With the capacity to accommodate up to 16 bicycles with space for visitor parking and cargo bikes, it caters to diverse storage needs. It establishes a communal hub for residents to gather, fostering connections among neighbours. This gathering place serves as a catalyst for engaging with cycling enthusiasts, hobbyists, and commuters alike.

This eco-friendly unit runs on solar power, featuring a power wall for electric bike charging, and includes maintenance tools. Accessible through a user-friendly application, a fob, or a PIN, it offers flexibility and convenience. Bike Box’s concept is deeply rooted in addressing the cycling community’s concerns regarding security and storage.
