This project envisions a transformative urban landscape that naturally embodies resilience, inclusivity, and sustainability. In areas historically affected by landslides and political neglect, this initiative reformed an urban void into a harmoniously integrated urban system.
Our design transforms the impermeable blacktop into functional green urban terraces that mitigate environmental risks and provide communal spaces, fostering a deep connection between residents and their natural surroundings.
In redefining housing within these settings, we tailor our architectural solutions to align with the unique topography, dwellings are integrated into the broader plan of creating vibrant, mixed-use neighborhoods that serve as the backbone of Candelaria’s new social and economic fabric, to prevent displacement, promote economic stability, and encourage community engagement.
The reconfigured public spaces become catalysts for community interaction, designed to weave together social fabric and ecological functionality. These spaces not only serve recreational purposes but are also pivotal in fostering community resilience and adaptability to climate impacts.
Through strategic urban planning and ecological design, our project focuses on creating a living environment where community life and natural systems are interdependent, we embody the ethos of “FORM FOLLOWS LIFE,” championing a future where urban development is synonymous with ecological and social prosperity.
