1) Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Miao.Long is an architecture student interested in environmental protection, culture and design.

2) What inspired you for the Market 2.0?

The market problems I observed in daily life made me want to try new marketing models. I think people and goods are very active in the market, but in contrast, architecture is static. I want to make the building itself grow and participate in the interaction of the market.

3) Can you describe any particular challenges you faced during the design process and how
you overcame them?

I think the challenge I faced during the design process was how to express the evaluation of the market in the form of architecture, so as to achieve the effect of visualizing the quality of the business.

Through brainstorming with my team members, I conducted an investigation from the perspective of sustainable biological materials, studied various properties of mycelium as a building material, and the characteristics of mycelium in the decomposition of garbage. After determining the characteristics of the material, the design is combined with the construction mode of the mobile building and the market demand of consumers and sellers.

4) How do you think your educational background or professional experiences influenced your winning design?

As I major in architecture, I pay more attention to spatial scale and building structure in design. Besides, I have learned courses on sustainability in school, it made me focus on the sustainability of building materials and functions in design.

5) What advice would you give to students or young professionals looking to excel in architecture competitions?

I think cooperation is very important. Different experiences create different focus and inspiration. Through cooperation, people can draw on each other’s strengths and make the design more diversified and perfect.

6) What are your future aspirations in the field of architecture?

My future aspirations in the field of architecture is to design architectures that can cope with natural disasters or mitigate the climate crisis.
