THE BIGNESS are symbols of showing off, and they have been used as a tool to represent the size of human power throughout the ages. From ancient pyramids to modern skyscrapers, THE BIGNESSS served as landmarks that symbolize cities through their big scale. But the scale is relative concept, and and can be seen as BIGNESS or TININESS depending on the perspective.
To us, “THE LINE” is a futuristic landmark that is excessively scaled. The scale became so big that the boundaries between architecture and city are blurred. This is similar to Rem’s fifth theorem of Bigness, “Bigness is no longer part of any urban tissue.” The Line is the result of excessive human desire for showing off, and It is become a landmark for the Earth beyond the city.
Then, How does The Line look from space? It no longer looks like a landmark, contrary to human expectations. It’s just THE TININESS in “Pale Blue Dot”, a point in the GCS, 28°07’39″N34°57’12″E. The Line’s big scale shrinks to insignificance from a cosmic perspective. It suggests that The Line, a symbol of human power, can be THE TININESS against the huge scale of the universe.
