A Dynamic Oasis in the Heart of Rome

Our proposal transforms the ancient Colosseum into a vibrant urban hub by blending its historical heritage with contemporary innovation. By day, the structure becomes a lush garden with four tiers of greenery and accessible pathways, allowing visitors to connect with nature. At night, the arena floor transforms into a floating cinema, with water lapping gently beneath the stars. 

Our design focuses on four key areas: the arena, outer wall, four tiers, and roof. The garden is located on four tiers, while the outer wall features a large green wall made from recycled metal and a market area with a uniform metal structure. Visitors can access the market from outside, ensuring a seamless transition between old and new. The retractable fabric roof collects rainwater and powers the water tower function without electricity. The man-made lake at the center serves as a cistern and entertainment feature, with solar panels on the attic providing electricity for the cinema and other functions. This design honors the original architecture while introducing modern and sustainable features, ensuring the Colosseum remains a beloved landmark for generations to come.
