About

I was born and raised in Daejeon, South Korea. As a child, there were always architecture books around the house. I don’t know when exactly, but the heroic architects and their style of drawings started pulling me in. After graduating, I went to Tokyo—drawn by the kind of architecture I had admired for years. That’s where I began working as a designer. Later, I moved to the U.S., hoping to experience a more rational society—and the kind of architectural culture that comes from it. I studied at the University of Pennsylvania and got my Master of Science in Architecture. Since then, I’ve spent about eight years working mostly in small offices in New York, doing a bit of everything—design, permits, construction administration. In 2024, I became a licensed architect in New York State. Currently, I work at a design firm in New York, focusing on high-end residential design and construction. At the same time, I’m also involved in a project that explores the restoration and reuse of traditional houses in Japan. When I’m not working, I like spending quiet time at the public library reading graphic novels and play pungmul, a traditional Korean percussion-based folk music, with a group of friends.
