Our core design concept revolves around the X Cube, envisioned as a multisensory musical installation. Inspired by the five senses, the X Cube aims to offer inclusive musical experiences for diverse individuals, including those with disabilities, while enhancing music festival interactions. Water emerged as a central element, enabling sensory engagement through different states: vapor evokes smell and taste, ice represents touch, ripples stimulate sight, and raindrops resonate with hearing. This creates a transformative space where the X Cube shifts its form based on sensory interplay, fostering deep musical immersion.
Structurally, the X Cube places the audience at its core, surrounded by performing bands. Expanding on the sensory theme, we explored cymatics to study how elements react to music, associating them with emotions: fire for excitement, thunder for surprise, sand for focus, ferrofluid for joy, and water for sadness. Music frequency, too, resonates with these elements, influencing the emotional response.
Sustainably, the X Cube is modular, adapting to various terrains and expandable for larger venues. By intertwining art, technology, and inclusivity, the X Cube transcends traditional performances, pioneering a future where music is not just heard but felt, seen, and lived.

Jury Comments
– While the aesthetic and interactive elements are impressive, practical considerations such as maintenance, safety, and accessibility need to be addressed to ensure the installation’s success. The project stands out for its creativity and potential to create a deeply immersive and inclusive environment, offering a glimpse into the future of experiential design. | Mohamed Abdellatif
