Let us imagine that the Colosseum is a huge crater in which public life is centred and concentrated.

 Let us imagine that in the yet unknown reality the elaborate underground floor, where in the past the poor animals, slaves and gladiators waited for the next fight in the centre of the crater, connects all areas of Rome through their own underground floors in a system beneath the eternal city.

People could reach the crater of the Colosseo through underground connections and then choose to enter one of the many transparent tubes to leave the crater as a large, multi-purpose public space and have the opportunity to view and experience ancient Rome from above.
