A Symphony of Nature and Wellbeing in the Himalayas
Our thermal bath celebrates homage to the geothermal wealth of this remarkable landscape. The design draws inspiration from the unique vernacular architecture of the site and geological formations of the area, featuring geometric forms that echo the rugged peaks. Within this structure, we’ve carefully curated a diverse program, offering yoga areas, thermal baths with varying temperatures, as well as dining and relaxation spaces that seamlessly coexist in perfect harmony.
Our commitment to environmental sustainability is unwavering. The lightweight structure is not only adaptable to the site but also ensures swift and eco-friendly construction, minimising our environmental footprint. Overhead lighting maximises natural light and heat capture, underscoring our dedication to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Moreover, our design affords visitors panoramic views of the magnificent Lake Gosaikunda, located on its shores. The colour palette chosen for the structure resembles the surrounding rocks, allowing for a seamless integration with the natural environment and minimising visual impact. This project is a testament to our respect, incorporation and balance for the local people, culture, wildlife and the fragile balance of the Himalayan ecosystem, ensuring it becomes a harmonious extension of this majestic landscape.
Jury Comments
“We were intrigued by the proposal’s analogy with traditional dwelling type and its adoption of a cross-sectional form. Although the individual volumes that result from this approach may seem a bit deja vu, they are arranged in a grouping that creates an attractive overall form. There is no doubt that this proposal is excellent, but if some of the volumes had been designed with reference to traditional dwellings, with only the top light penetrating into the space, the architecture might have been both open and introspective.” -ATELIER MOZH
