To fight with climate change, it is needed to reconsider your needs and desires. Do we need to build? Why we have to make an architecture that blends into landscape when we can have just landscape? Why trying to minimize the footprint of the building if the building can fit in the backpack and have the footprint of a human, move, adapt and change.
Starting our work for this competition, we questioned what is actually needed to have a thermal bath in Himalia, and we came to the conclusion that nothing more than a towel, cover and change of clothes. That’s why we propose an experience that doesn’t require architecture in traditional term. At the beginning of the journey to the hot springs, each traveller would receive a fabric with a map of their path that can be used as a cover and a towel, one pennant that once reaching their destination can be left to form a garland and mark their accomplishment and clothes for change. All the elements can form a backpack that when needed can form a small architecture but doesn’t intervene in landscape.
Jury Comments
“It is a very simple project, but a complex idea built with simply elements by their own vistors.”
