In the post-dismantled state of the once former Nakagin Capsule Tower, the building boundary once confined to a permanent site in Tokyo has expanded.
In its assembled form, residents were brought together, condensed physically so that they could exist separately. The micro and macro spatial efficiencies produced and promoted a way of dwelling that prioritized experience on and of the exterior – but is it possible to live alone, together, forever?
Detachment from the nest invigorates each capsule to embark on it’s own journey to the extents of the world, making their way from the machined confinement of the city, to the natural biomes of the world. Eventually, some capsules encounter and, out of desire for audience, choose to settle around a shared focus.

I love the nostalgia behind the concept, the fact that each capsule embarked on its own path and then, after a while, they came together and decided to re-establish themselves with a shared focus is truly touching. Moreover, it’s a concept that encompasses many emotions, and that is very valuable. Congratulations.
