Rampartment is a low-to-middle-income apartment complex. Vertical construction is best due to high housing demand and limited land. A bike-centric courtyard will encourage inhabitants to cycle.
The center cross-laminated timber and steel ramp is the building’s principal entrance. Its 4% slope is good for running, walking, and cycling. The building has no elevator, and the stair is in a bad location, so it should only be utilized as a last resort. Although there is a parking spot for cars and motorbikes, they are not allowed inside. This reduces indoor air pollution, promotes healthy lifestyle, leisurely living, and community. Rampartment is made up of steel, hempcrete, and bamboo. Vertical gardens help manage building air quality. The bottom level has rentable areas including a market, bike store, bike rental shop, bike repair shop, and bike assist for seniors, PWD, etc. A multi-purpose room on the second floor may host cycling events. Bamboo-covered air spaces offer cross ventilation in each residential unit. The units also collect rainwater.
Because there are no other vehicles permitted inside and the stairs are a hassle, people will seek a comfortable and efficient method to go about, so they will incorporate cycling in their everyday lives.

Driving circles with a bike, not clear where to.
