Vertical Farm (NON-A) | Forest Mill
A renovation that aims to generate a vertical farm at the old Millennium Mills building within London’s Royal Docks area. Taking advantage of the limited land availability, the project capitalizes on the potential of the abandoned large buildings to create new spaces for urban food cultivation. By transforming the building’s facades and core areas by integrating wooden structures, Forest Mill not only breathes new life into the site but also provides open gardens for visitors.
The incorporation of wooden structures alongside lush vegetation creates a forest-like ambiance that extends beyond the confines of the mill building. This approach contributes to the expansion of green areas within the city.
Furthermore, Forest Mill serves as a catalyst for social engagement by offering a welcoming environment for visitors. Educational gardens allow individuals to learn about sustainable food production, fostering a deeper connection with nature and promoting awareness of ecological practices.
This vertical farm is increasing green spaces, fostering social engagement, and exploring new economic opportunities for communities. contributing to a sustainable future.
