1) Could you briefly introduce yourself?

25, Born in Manila, Philippines. I hold a degree in architecture from the Philippines and currently work as a freelance architectural visualization artist. Engaging in competitions helps me enhance my understanding, abilities, analytical thinking, and grasp of various software and architectural scopes.

2) What inspired you for the Meditation Roofs?

In our daily routines, time seems to slip away quickly, particularly in bustling urban settings. Amidst the constant noise of everyday life, we risk losing sight of what it truly means to live. It’s essential to carve out moments for pause and reflection amidst our fast-paced lives. Dodecahedra offers a solution—a snug meditation pod designed to be placed on any rooftop. With its compelling features, it compels even the busiest individuals to step inside and engage in meditation.

3) Can you describe any particular challenges you faced during the design process and how
you overcame them?

The Challenge to provide a single image. Condensing and justifying a complex design into its essential components can be challenging. Simplifying the concept and selecting only the crucial elements as the solution to the problem is the key approach.

4) How do you think your educational background or professional experiences influenced your winning design?

In previous competition entries, I consistently conducted thorough research on contemporary architectural designs and watched relevant architecture-related videos. Understanding the competition brief thoroughly before commencing the design process is essential, requiring a deep dive into its nuances.

5) What advice would you give to students or young professionals looking to excel in architecture competitions?

Participate in competitions frequently and give your best effort each time. This consistent engagement will gradually reveal your growth as a designer. Eventually, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find your designs winning recognition.
